Samantha Smith
Samantha was born in 1985 and raised in North Yorkshire. Her passion for music was apparent from an early age, with her first inspiration coming from the well known artist, Alanis Morissette. This drew Samantha to start singing and playing the guitar at the age of eleven and quickly developed her talent and grew to become a conscious singer/songwriter, basing the majority of her music around her guitar.
Whilst performing at a charity event for Martin House Children’s Hospice, Samantha was introduced to the headline act; London based boy band, Damage. Working alongside them Samantha developed a good working relationship and was offered a two year development deal. When Damage split in 2002 this lead to numerous offers but unfortunately these did not work out.
Throughout her career so far she has many different variants of success, after a little break from music she is back and hungry as ever to succeed once again on a different path. In 2009 Samantha released an EP – Samantha Smith Unplugged, voted 6th best EP of 2009 by Graham Chalmers Editor of the Gig Scene. Samantha is now gigging locally with her own percussionist creating a very unique and quirky sound.
