Mick Simpson Band
Mick writes…I am a Yorkshire Lad born and bred. I started playing guitar when I was 5yrs old and played my first gig at the age of 12yrs. I got my first break from Radio 1’s Friday Night Rock Show, featuring Tommy Vance. Who aired an instrumental guitar track calledMick simpson ‘The Balance of Power’.

This led to a career as a session guitarist for artist’s like, Elkie Brookes, Roger Waters, Bill Wyman and John Parr, of St Elmo’s Fire fame. It was with John Parr that I recorded a track called ‘Restless Heart’, this track features on the end credits of ‘Arnie’s’ film The Running Man.
I also played guitar on John Parr’s album, Man With a Vision. a highlight for me was back in 2004, winning first prize in the ‘Instrumental catogory’ of the UK Song Writers Contest, in assosciation with ‘The Brit awards’. The track is called A Father’s Son, a song inspired by my son Connor who has Autisum.
