Matthew Bellwood
Leeds-based storyteller Matthew Bellwood tells cautionary tales about life, love and the importance of owning your own eagle – taking in everything from the Nina Simone Songbook to the arcane powers of Edgar Allan Poe along the way. Over the last few years, he has worked everywhere from the Edinburgh and Canadian Fringes to the International Shakespeare Conference in New Zealand. Along the way, he has performed in schools, libraries, theatres and pop-up museums, at DIY rock gigs and, on one memorable occasion, to an audience of 1,200 girl-guides in a tent.
“I don’t think I’ve ever seen another performer quite like Bellwood, who makes the pure act of telling of stories – somewhere between acting and live literature – the centre of what he does.” Fringeguru.com
“The kind of man who has a favourite acorn.” The Brighton Argus.
