Maha Dev’s Quintessence

We are honoured to announce a late addition to our lineup, legendary 70’s prog rockers Quintessence

Maha Dev’s Quintessence
The original 1970’s psychedelic rock band ‘Quintessence’, has been reformed by original rhythm guitarist Maha Dev. Back on the festival trail after 40 years, Maha Dev’s Quintessence have been performing live for the last two years, leading up to incredible performances at Sonic Rock festival 2010, Glastonbury 2010 and finishing off  the summer at the Limetree festival 2010.

When Maha Dev’s Quintessence performed on the ‘Rabbit hole’ & ‘Glade’ stages at this year’s 40th Glastonbury Festival, Phil ‘Shiva’ Jones joined them, for the first time in 37 years. Shiva and Maha Dev were both members of the original Quintessence back in the seventies.

An upcoming release of Maha Dev & Shiva’s collaboration as ‘Kala’;  ‘After Quintessence: The Complete Kala Recordings 1973′, is to be released this year by Hux Records, alongside a release of  ‘Maha Dev’s Quintessence’ album recorded live at Glastonbury 2010.

“Right from the beginning we have been about; love, peace, respect, & understanding, for all nations, whatever colour, creed or religion. Universal sounds bring people together. We want QUINTESSENCE to continue to deliver positive sounds for the ears of the planet. ‘BOM-SHIVA-OM-TAT-SAT’ ..PRAISE THE LORD..”  Maha Dev.
