Jilly Riley
Jilly Riley is a solo artist from South Elmsall, West Yorkshire, making music inspired by the people, for the people. She’s here to deliver a brand new sound of freedom to your ears and souls, like you’ve never heard before! With a passion to fight for what’s good and right ( in a non violent, musically harmonious way), this lass is on a mission to bring freedom and peace back to the people, where it belongs. She released her debut album “Organic Soul” last summer, a fresh and unique mix of funk, ska, latin and blues…..

With a dash of inspiration from Hendrix, Marley, Stevie Wonder and Sly and the family stone…..and recorded using some rather odd substitutes for instruments including a wock, bisto tin, fire bucket, spoons, boxes and a vase (amongst others) this unique approach to music is definitely worth a listen.
She’s been playing and writing since the age of 8 and now her 8 year old daughter is following in her footsteps. She sang on the racial harmony single “I don’t see colours I just see faces” With her mum, launched last October as part of a campaign against racism.
In the future Jilly plans to launch further campaigns backed up by songs on the debut album including, anti nuclear power and war, organic food and farming and the destruction of rain forests and indiginous peoples and their traditions.
