JD73

JD73 is the brainchild of Leeds based artist/keyboardist/producer Dan Goldman a.k.a JD73.
An influential and well known face on the international music scene for many years (both as a performer and studio artist), Dan has worked with many highly respected acts including Morcheeba (keyboardist/co-writer for 7 yrs), Nate James, The Jamiroquai band, Shlomo, Eska, Corinne Bailey Rae and TY, (to name a few) and has remixed/worked alongside artists including Bonobo, DJ Regal, The New Mastersounds, Mozez, Nightmares On Wax, Domu, Roots Manuva, Mark Ronson (with the Haggis Horns) plus many more.
Fusing Pop/Rock, Jazz, Funk, Disco, Soul, Hip-Hop, and Electronics, and spinning them into an exciting, highly original and infectious new sound, JD73 has been making waves with a string of much-loved and fresh releases over the last few years, earning respect from many Dj’s including Patrick Forge, Benji B and Tom Middleton, as well as performing live with his JD73 band alongside Gilles Peterson, DJ Food, José James, The Barbican Blaze Festival, and to a packed Royal Festival Hall for the 2008 London Jazz Festival. In 2010 JD73 will also be supporting Finley Quaye.
His debut LP’ Zeros and Ones’ (released on Philly-based label Ropeadope) has firmly cemented JD73 as one of the most progressive and talented artist/producer/remixers/performers around.
“Herbie Hancock, Rahsaan Roland Kirk, and Sun Ra would all be proud. Funk infused, electro-jazz is alive. Zeros and Ones proves that!” – Okayplayer.com
Yahoo Music Wrote: JD73 has the ‘70s soul-funk sound down cold. The organic beats and flowing bass riffs jump my bones like a night at long gone infamous Manhattan club, Sweetwaters.
