Gary Ward, Mr Cottonhouse
JB’s welcomes Gary Ward to Limetree Festival 2012.
Mr Cottonhouse is the solo project of Gary Ward, the lead guitar/vocalist of Lancashire based band The Cottonhouse Shakers. Having many years experience performing and teaching the guitar, “Mr Cottonhouse” is the long awaited solo project which sees a return to performing acoustic blues – a passion normally reserved for late night drinking sessions with friends. With an old battered guitar, resonator guitar, stomp box, slide and slightly distorted vocals (to give that old blues recording effect) Mr Cottonhouse offers a fresh approach to the blues whilst still maintaining an authentic feel for the genre.
