Jb’s post Limetree gig & get together with  friends old and new is our way of giving back some of the love showered upon us at this year’s Limetree, and will be held this Saturday December 3rd at OL2 8JB . If you enjoyed our  efforts at this years Festival please make  a date in your musical diary for this post Limetree get together celebrating the people who’s efforts made it such a memorable event. Five of the Jb’s artist list have joined up to recreate the excellent vibe that was on show over the August bank holiday. Sony Miguel is responsible for producing the Addictive Tour Radio Show mixes along with Jimmy Bell on a weekly basis. Sony also bring his flair and passion to the decks with his own style and is often given plenty of great feedback when he provides the show with his own guest mix. Recent House parties he has played include SUPPERCLUB (NL), CLUB SINNERS (NL), THE ZEBRA LOUNGE (NL), THE PIT (UK) and THE VELVET ROOMS (USA)

The Only Childs are an original Band creating new music, and we do not conform to what is in fashion on the music scene! We make music with passion & meaning, from the heart, and added with the burning desire to destroy the auto-tuned/soulless, unoriginal Music which plagues our radio waves! We are a Rock band, but non of our songs sound the same, giving us a varied set which will take you on a musical journey from slow acoustic, to fast paced Rock n Roll, and everything in-between.

Klezmer music was born centuries ago in little Jewish villages (called Shtetls) that existed all over Eastern Europe. It is music that is both heart wrenching and joyous, sad but also exhilarating. Tantz takes this traditional form of music and injects it with upbeat improvisation and cutting edge grooves.

Israeli born, with Spanish/Turkish heritage alongside a Yorkshire accent, songstress Terri Shaltiel has been touring the gig circuit for a few years to critical acclaim. Described by Ian Shaw as ‘a phenomenal soul blues singer – world class’ and Craig Charles (BBC Radio, Funk and Soul Show) as having ‘Cool tunes and what a great voice!’ she is currently going from strength to strength….. Best described as funky soul/blues fused with contemporary R&B and Jazz, Terri has recently been on tour with Jim Mullen across Yorkshire (played with Morrisey Mullen, Terry Callier, Dusty Springfield, Average White Band and Stéphane Grappelli to name but a few) and appeared live at the request of Barbara Tucker at the Ibiza Club, SPACE. She has also been a session singer for MC Undakova in New York and has sung in Harlem. As well as all her jet setting, Terri believes in treading the boards in the local venues of her hometown, Leeds and can be regularly heard playing about the town….. The inspiration for her songwriting and lyrical prowess comes from an eclectic lifestyle that sees her experience some unusual encounters. For example Giggolo Boy is about when she met a twentysomething Turkish Actor who was being paid to go on holiday with a 70 year old German doctor!…. The mark of Terri’s inspiration is from a diverse mix, but includes artists such as Aretha Franklin, Marlena Shaw, Roberta Flack and Ray Charles with a contemporary twist….. There is no doubt that if you are wanting to get people dancing in the rafters and getting excited by a genuine new talent, then Terri Shaltiel is the ideal ticket…..Genre: Blues / Funk / Soul, Location Leeds, Northeast, UK.

Over the years Si has worked alongside some of the world’s best DJs (including Erick Morillo, Graeme Park, Norman Jay and Basement Jaxx) and has played at internationally recognised clubs and events (including Global Gathering, various clubs in Las Vegas USA, Sankeys, Café Mambo, Gods Kitchen, Hed Kandi, In The City, Cocoa Rooms, Sugar Lounge, Retro and Ministry Of Sound).

DJ Si Forestiero: Using over 20 years of experience, my DJing style reflects my eclectic musical taste and I am able to play long sets comprising a mixture of genres (eg Global Gathering VIP, In Bed With Space, Las Vegas) or a single genre (eg Hed Kandi, Retro, Sintillate etc.). I like to keep crowds up by mixing using looping, scratching and cutting in accapellas and effects.

Having been recognised as one of Leeds’ favourite solo performers, she has now hand-picked a group of musicians, who allow her the freedom to express her rich talent, and stretch her musical boundaries further and further with all genres included, from acoustic, soul, jazz to blues, folk and middle eastern, all are given the special Hayley Gaftarnick sound. Her drive and enthusiasm for “live” music and giving artists at the grass-roots level, an opportunity to perform at her various promotions, while refraining from stealing the spotlight, again provides evidence that here is a promoter/artist who promotes for all the right reasons.

The Alec Robinson Quartet brings together four distinctive young jazz musicians from the North of England, all of whom met while studying at Leeds College of Music. With a rhythm section led by Alec on piano, and comprising John Marley on bass and Ali Mac on drums, the group features Jazz Yorkshire’s 2010 ‘Young Musician of the Year’ Matt Anderson on tenor sax.

The sounds of the quartet bring to life stirring and lyrical melodies, being a mixture of striking original compositions with influences of John Taylor and Kenny Wheeler, and arrangements of both well-known standards and pieces drawn from some of Alec’s favourite jazz artists.

Mr Cottonhouse is the solo project of Gary Ward, the lead guitar/vocalist of Lancashire based band The Cottonhouse Shakers. Having many years experience performing and teaching the guitar, “Mr Cottonhouse” is the long awaited solo project which sees a return to performing acoustic blues – a passion normally reserved for late night drinking sessions with friends. With an old battered guitar, resonator guitar, stomp box, slide and slightly distorted vocals (to give that old blues recording effect) Mr Cottonhouse offers a fresh approach to the blues whilst still maintaining an authentic feel for the genre.

P*Starr are a Funk/soul fusion outfit from Rochdale. Based in and around Manchester, P*Starr are….Adey McDermott – vocals/percussion, Anthony Nicholl – guitars/vocals, Mick Kiernan – guitars/vocals, Neil ‘Nelly’ Schofield – bass/vocals

Fresh from recent warm-ups gigs in the North-west, P*STARR are accompanied by Dave Ellis on keyboards, Brian Hargreaves on drums/percussion, and Shabhaz ‘Billa’ Hussain on tabla/chants.
