Clive Henry

Clive Henry has been clubbing for over 15 years now and has been a DJ for over 12. After a couple of years regularly attending London’s now legendary Shoom , Spectrum and Queens, he started running and playing at his own successful parties called GOSH, which he co-promoted alongside Rocky (Xpress 2 / Problem kids) then later with Charlie Chester. As Gosh came to a close after an eventful and successful 3 years, Clive reunited with Rocky and new boy Lofty to start a new night called THE BONE. As the parties grew in popularity so did Clive’s reputation as a DJ. He soon found himself gracing the decks at FLYING at the Soho Theatre Club, Full Circle, Back to Basics ( Leeds ), Venus ( Nottingham ) and Cream to name a few. International bookings have taken him to Ibiza, Crete, Majorca, Malta, Mexico, Portugal, Prague, Amsterdam, Italy, Germany, Turkey, Japan, Australia and America. After being one of the original Flying Records shop crew for 6 years, Clive left to pursue a promising recording career. His first effort in the studio resulted in the seminal “Amber Groove “ under the guise of SAS. This track first released in 1991 is still being played today and regularly features in many DJ’s all time top 10 !!As time went by Clives sound mutated into a deeper vibe. A turning point came when on hearing his work he met up and formed a partnership with Justin Drake. Together they became Peace Division and Soul Purpose. Clive and Rocky formed the label Low Pressings in 1996, originally as an outlet for Peace Division and Soul purpose productions. This last year has seen Clive Henry and Peace Division spiral into the spotlight. Their long awaited album featuring their own work entitled JUNKYARD FUNK was released and eagerly received by DJ’s worldwide. Danny Tenaglia reported “Never before have I played so many tracks by the same artist in one night !”. Not only does Clive produce masses of quality vinyl but he also regularly spins it !! At the notorious album launch party for the NRK NIGHTLIFE compilation series a major roadblock was caused with people eager to hear CLIVE and Peace Division DJ !! Clive is very much in demand for his DJ’ing skills as resident for ELEMENTS as well as spinning at FABRIC, The END, CREAM, ALASKA to name a few.
