BOYWONDER (Kevin Harper)
Kevin Harper aka “BOYWONDER” & George Eveyln met in Bradford in1984 As young Hip-Hop/ breakdance fans, & by 1985 ran their own club called “Downbeat” & Breakdance Troop called “The Solar City Rockers” Inaugurating their Poverty label in 1989 with a 12” feat Hip-Hop tune “Starting a Fact” on one side and “Let It Roll/ Dextrous” on the flip “Dextrous” became Warp’s second single which Put “Nightmares” well on the Northern Bleep scene alongside house pioneers “Unique 3” the likes of “LFO” & The “Forgemasters” 1990’s “Aftermath” crept into the charts at no 38 but following the “Word Of Science” album Harper left to concentrate on his DJ career which took him to Europe & other parts of the Globe…. After taking a back seat in the production seat BOYWONDER is back with A fresh approach to his new stuff & an album forthcoming which has been worked On since 2002 (which is a mix of Chillout. Soulful House, Breakbeat funk & Hip-Hop) which promises to be dope, with future collaborations with the likes of “Earl Tu Tu” the “D&J Project” on the horizon, the BOYWONDER groove is back repin The “BRADFORD SOUND” once again.
