Alfie Ordinary

Alfie Ordinary: “Alfie Ordinary is definitely not any old solo artist, singing about what is fresh, ‘in’ and ongoing: Facebook.  His latest tracks ‘Facebook Song’ and ‘Other Song’ have been taking social networks by a storm! In just two weeks of uploading it to SoundCloud, ‘Facebook Song’ has managed to receive over 1500 plays, how cool is that?  A song to really listen to and connect with, ‘Facebook Song’ is more than true; there are many around the world who will sit at their computers smiling, nodding and agreeing. With his sweet, charming voice, it is easy to sit back and just listen. Stop what you’re doing and lean back – He is guaranteed to make you smile, laugh and tap along.  With influences from Missy Elliot to Leigh Mary Stokes, he has a bit of everything in just his acoustic guitar and cheery voice.” new-reviews.co.uk

Alfie writes songs.  With a mixture of influences, from The Beatles to Lady Sovereign, his main aim in making music is to be true to himself.  His songwriting style is familiar, using the every day as his pallet.  “I would feel silly singing a song with words I wouldn’t usually say.”  And in a similar fashion, the subjects of his songs are just as every day as the words he uses.

Alfie’s first public release, a double single consisting of Facebook Song and Other Song recieved critical acclaim and was briefly featured in the itunes chart for Singer Songwriters.  He is now preparing for his second release, Wheetabix Song and Ticket Song.

After several festival dates last year, Alfie is preparing this years live set with a full band.

“Alfie sings an honest and open account of himself face-stalking a loved one and the rather normal annoying aspects of social networking when it comes to relationships. The track is catchy and your heart really goes out to Alfie… a song like this is well overdue, we’d give it 5/5 for originality”  topoftheox.co.uk
