“We have worked together for the last 18 months on numerous duo gigs from the usual wedding receptions to the slightly bizarre – playing in shop windows (literally on the window ledge as we dont take up much room) and will be performing in a pie shop very soon to which we have a large following on twitter who want to shake meracas just to say they’ve played in one! We like wierd gigs! I want us to play in a petrol station or a garden centre next!”

“I’ve always tried to have an open mind when it comes to performing
music, My dj sets encompass many different styles from Deep Funk, Soul
and Latin to House, Disco, Techno, Broken Beats and Drum and Bass. I
do my best to blend all these genres together to keep the dancefloor
fresh and exciting. I believe variety is extreamly important
especially when I’m playing long, sometimes upto 5 hour, sets.”
“My approach to production is very similar to my dj performances, taking
ideas and themes from many different influences and creating an eclectic cocktail of sound with a backbone of Funk.”

Following sell-out runs at the Edinburgh Fringe in 2008 and 2009, London’s most versatile a cappella group is coming to Limetree. No instruments, no electronic trickery, no compromises – In the Smoke do things with their mouths you cannot imagine.
In the Smoke formed in 2007 from some of the leading lights of the a cappella scene who, moving to the big city, wanted to forge a new, cutting edge path for a cappella singing. What has resulted is a group that reflects the varied backgrounds and experiences of its membership: front-runners at international competitions; winners of arrangement awards; choral scholars; musical directors; singer-songwriters and more.
